Whether the weather is cool

or whether the weather is hot

We'll weather the weather

whatever the weather

whether we like it or not.

Outdoor Seating

Finding a restaurant with a patio has been our number one priority when searching for a place to eat since the pandemic began.   Sometimes it's just too dang cold, and takeout is inevitable, but winters are usually mild in the South well through December.   Here are some spots with outdoor seating, and some even have brunch and heaters!

Outdoor Seating

The Cafe at The Bobby Hotel has a delightful atmosphere.  If you don't mind paying $15 for a mimosa, you'll be in your element.  Don't get me wrong.  $15 for a cocktail is fine; $15 for prosecco and orange juice is a bit pretentious.

But man, is this place gorgeous.  There's seating outside for about twenty, and you're right on the street in Downtown Nashville, perfect for people watching.

Jeff Ruby's has a huge patio with several tables.  Their bartenders are keen on making you a damn good, specialty cocktail.  Also, their sushi and wagyu rolls are excellent and well-priced.  If you're wanting good food that's a cut above your weekend haunt, and you are NOT in the mood for mediocrity, Jeff Ruby's is a good choice.  They have heaters on their patios, too.

Caramelized Pecans

The Alley on Main in Murfreesboro is an AWESOME restaurant.  Their outdoor seating is a just a few picnic tables on a covered porch, but on a nice day, you can go there and be safe AND get into their badass bourbon pecan pie.  Some of the servers look confused when you ask to sit outside.  Folks forget that patio is there... *Closed Sundays

Quinn's Pub in Franklin has a little side patio with about half a dozen tables with umbrellas.  There are several servers who roam the patio, so you won't be neglected.  Their Irish cuisine bar food and brews rock.  Think ciders, ales, brats, and fish.  They also have seven different specialty mac and cheese dishes.  Yum, mate.

The Goat in Murfreesboro has an interesting outdoor patio.  There's a pool and sand volleyball court on the property, and they have volleyball leagues in September.  The Goat can be a little loud and they're always missing ingredients because their menu is so huge, but it's a fun super casual place that always has availability.

Burger Republic both in Nolensville and in Murfreesboro have outdoor seating.  BR has a good solid burger (of several interesting varieties) but what keeps us coming back to BR is the boozy milkshakes.  You may not have known that a Spiked Nutella or Bananas Foster boozy shake is what was missing from your life, but now you know.

Most Champy's locations have outdoor seating.  The one in Murfreesboro has some outdoor tables and some big garage doors that open into some quasi-outdoor seating.  They don't open them much, though.  Champy's is one of those restaurants that does a few things very well.  They have good, fried chicken and fish with a few other dishes.  With their traditional southern menu it's a surprise they have a bar, but they do!

The Square Market and Cafe in Columbia is a nice little getaway.  You'll only want to eat outside at this joint as the inside is creepy AF.  The servers are very friendly, and the patio is quite dog-friendly as well.  The server offered our dog a bowl of water before he even wiped off our table.  They have excellent soups and sandwiches on their menu and delicious coffee.   They have a bar, and you can get a mimosa if they don't forget to thaw their orange juice (yeah that happened).  They take reservations, which are recommended if you're wanting to sit outside; their patio is quite small.
